 It isn't a horrible game, but other than offering a strong simulation aspect, there's not much there. Electronic Arts has proven with the Moto Racer series that it knows what a good motorcycle racing game is. That's why it is so disappointing to see that Castrol Honda Superbike is so noticeably inferior. It isn't a horrible game, but other than offering a strong simulation aspect, there's not much there.
Castrol Honda Superbike, as the name implies, is a racing game that exclusively features real Honda RC45 racing bikes that you can race on 14 real tracks from around the world. The game has several different settings that let you customize your bike. Most notable are the different sprocket settings that let you change your bike's gear-ratio settings. Each gear can be adjusted so that you can tailor and maximize your motorcycle's performance for each track.
The control of the bikes is actually quite good, especially when using the Dual Shock controller - one stick steers the bike while the other adjusts your speed. The bike reacts as it would in real life, which means that when you're going around a tight turn you must take it at a reasonable speed so your bike doesn't go slamming into a wall. If this is a problem for you, the game does offer six different difficulty settings, some of which have options that help steer your bike for you while you turn, as well as reduce your bike's speed so that you can make the turn. The AI of the track's seven computer-controlled bikers isn't anything special. The bikers just race along the course in a standard staggered style so that at just about any point in the race you have someone to directly compete against. If you do decide to race this other player, the game features a two-player head-to-head split-screen mode.
Visually, the game isn't that impressive, especially when compared with Moto Racer 2, Electronic Arts' Motorcycle racer that was released last year. The riders look a little too polygonal, and their motions aren't all that realistic. Take for instance the animation of your rider falling off the bike when you crash into a wall or when he's laying the bike down on it's side when going too quickly into a turn. The rider comes off the bike as if the hand of God reached down and plucked him off the bike without letting him move a muscle. Most of the rider's basic animations look more than a little awkward as well. The tracks themselves look decent, and the game doesn't suffer from too much pop-up. In the audio department, the game is nondescript, especially since there isn't any music during the races. The effects and engine sounds are fairly authentic but don't really keep you company during the races.

 is the name of a motorcycle racing video game series by Electronic Arts, in which the player participates in violent illegal street races. The game was originally released for the Sega Mega Drive Genesis, but was ported to several other systems. Six different games were released from 1991 to 1999, and a 2003 licensed port for the Game Boy Advance was released. Road Rash and two of its sequels later appeared on the EA Replay collection for the PSP.
The game's title is based on the slang term for the severe friction burns that can occur in a motorcycling fall where skin comes into contact with the ground at high speed.
Presented in a third person view similar to Hang On, the player competes in illegal road races and must finish in the three or four places depending on the specific game in every race in order to proceed to the next level. This money allows the player to buy faster bikes which are needed to stay competitive, and to pay for repairs when their motorcycle is wrecked, or fines when they are arrested by the police. The game is over if the player is unable to pay for repairs or fines.
Road Rash has a smoothly rendered vertical element. In most traditional older racing games, the player's vehicle remained on the same horizontal plane, negotiating turns essentially by going right or left see Pole Position video game. In Road Rash, players had to contend with grade changes, and the physics though rudimentary compared to today's games reflected the act of going up or down a hill, as well as turning while climbing, etc. This resulted in the ability to launch one's motorcycle great distances, resulting in crash animations. Road Rash also introduced an interactive race environment, with street signs, trees, poles, and livestock, which could interact with the player's vehicle. This was also one of the earlier games to feature active traffic, such as slow moving station wagons and the like while racing against other bikers.
Part of what separated Road Rash from other racing games was its combat element. The player could fight other bikers with a variety of hand weapons or kick away other racers. The player would initially start off with just his or her hands and feet, but if the gamer timed a punch right, he or she could grab a weapon from another rider. The weapons themselves included clubs, crowbars, nunchaku, and cattle prods. Race Driver Grid released in North America as simply Grid, is the most recent addition to the TOCA Touring Car series, which is published and developed by Codemasters. The game is available for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and was released in Europe on 30 May 2008, in North America on 3 June 2008 and in Australia on 12 June 2008. The Mac OS X version of the game was released by Feral Interactive on March 28, 2013.
Grid was developed and published by Codemasters, the creators of the TOCA/Race Driver series. It is a game in which the player runs their own race team, acting as the primary driver. As players progress they gain sponsors and can hire a teammate to drive alongside them in certain events.
The game begins with the player accepting jobs to drive for other teams to earn money, and once the player gains enough capital they can purchase their own vehicles and drive independently, as well as continuing to drive for other teams should they choose to. Gridfeatures a gameplay mechanic known as Flashback which allows the player to rewind gameplay by up to ten seconds and resume from their chosen point. This is a limited-use feature, determined by the difficulty setting.
Grid features several modes of competition using various cars. Three main regions are found in the game, United States, Europe, and Japan, each with their own championship. Each of the game's 43 cars are tied to one of these three regions. Grid also features several types of events to compete in, includingGT championships, drifting, touge, open wheel racing, and demolition derby, as well as variants on several of these motorsports. Players can also participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans at the end of each racing season.
Courses in the game are a mixture of real world and fictional circuits and point-to-point tracks. Real road courses such as Le Mansand Spa Francorchamps are included, while some defunct street circuits such as the Detroit street circuit in Michigan and theWashington D.C. street circuit are also included. There are also several fictional tracks inspired by real-world locations and circuits, such as street courses in San Francisco, California and Milan, Italy as well as Mount Haruna.
Grid uses Codemasters' own Ego engine, an updated version of the Neon engine already being used in their previous release Colin McRae: Dirt. The damage code has been completely rewritten to allow for environments with the potential for persistent damage.Ambisonics was used in the audio engine of the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions.
On 8 May 2008, a demo was released on the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace. The following day, a PC version of the demo was released. The demo allows players to try two game modes: racing and drifting. The demo also features a competition challenge, with a BMW 3 series, as a prize, for European-based gamers,and a Ford Mustang for U.S.-based players. The American competition ended at midnight on 25 May 2008, whereas the European competition ended on 31 May 2008, also at midnight. The demo also has two competition tracks available online, and allows up to 12 players to compete online. The demo has been downloaded by over one million people over three platforms.
In 2010, an arcade version of the game was published by Sega.
On 19 September 2008 Codemasters announced that they would be releasing three DLC (Downloadable Content) packs, the first of the three was released on 4 December 2008, the 8-Ball Pack was released on the Xbox Live Marketplace and the PlayStation Network. The pack contains eight new cars, these include the McLaren F1 GTR, TVR Cerbera Speed 12, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, Honda S2000, Nissan GT-R (S-G2008), VW Nardo, Pontiac Firebird and the Volvo C30. The 8-Ball Pack also comes complete with two new multiplayer events set on existing circuits from across Grid's three continents. On 4 March 2010 the second DLC pack dubbed the Prestige Pack was released (for the PS3 only). The pack adds Mount Panorama Circuit and ten cars, including the Ferrari F430 GTC, Bugatti Veyron and Ferrari F575 GTC. Need for Speed II is a 1997 racing video game, developed by Electronic Arts Canada and published by Electronic Arts. It is a part of the Need for Speed series and sequel to The Need for Speed (1994), significantly deviating from the emphasis of realism in The Need for Speed to arcade-like gameplay, though it introduces the car tuning. As does its predecessor, Need for Speed II features several exotic cars, and includes tracks set in various parts of the world. The game also opted to remove police pursuits introduced in The Need for Speed.

There are three main game types. The first two are single race and tournament and the last is a knockout race. Single races allow players to become familiar with the circuits and increase their skill of any one of the six tracks. The six tracks are called Mediterranean, Mystic Peaks, Proving Grounds, Outback, North Country, and Pacific Spirit.[1] Cars that are playable from the start include the McLaren F1, Ferrari F50, Ford GT90, Jaguar XJ220, Lotus GT1 and Lotus Espirit V8, Italdesign Cala, and the Isdera Commendatore 112i.[1] The game features extensive multi-player options including two to eight players over a LAN, by modem or serial connection and with split-screen racing.[2]

In a single race the player selects the opposing car, while all cars compete in a tournament and at the start of a knockout race. There is also two playing styles—arcade or simulation. Arcade mode improves handling while simulation mode is intended to provide more realism.[3] The number of laps can be chosen from two, four or six. Automatic or manual transmission as well car paint color are selectable in all game types.

A tournament race involves playing all tracks in order with the starting track able to be selected. Only after successfully completing a tournament in first place can knockout races can be played. Knockout races involve racing two laps over each of the six tracks with a number of opponents. These disqualification races always start on the easiest circuit and continue through each map, with the player who finishes last being eliminated after each race. After advancing through all the tracks another circuit is revealed. Monolithic Studios can then only be played by completing all knockout races first.

Racing is arcade style (it's awfully hard to destroy your car) and easy to learn, yet power drifting is an acquired skill that keeps the learning curve gradual, but long. The only knocks on this top-notch driving game are the ubiquitous product placements (a Cingular messaging system?), high system requirements, and large download size. Considering the depth and quality of Need for Speed Underground 2, though, most gamers can forgive those details.
